Sea of fire (Japanese: ひのうみ Sea of fire) is a team effect in the core series Pokémon games. It debuted in Generation V as an effect created by Fire Pledge and Grass Pledge as a combination move.

Effect

At the end of each turn, sea of fire inflicts damage to all Pokémon on its side of the field equal to 1/8 of their maximum HP, except Fire-type Pokémon. It deals damage even on the turn it fades.

As a team effect, it can be swapped with Court Change.

Causes

If Fire Pledge and Grass Pledge are used together as a combined move, when the combination move hits, it creates a sea of fire on the target's side of the field for four turns.

Description

Games Description SMUSUM It damages Pokémon other than Fire-type Pokémon every turn. SwSh Pokémon that are not Fire types will take damage every turn.
