The Masters Eight (Japanese: マスターズエイト Masters Eight) was a group of Elite Trainers first introduced in Pokémon Journeys: The Series. This group is made up of the eight greatest Trainers in the world according to the World Coronation Series ranking. The number one in the ranking is known as Monarch (Japanese: 王者 Monarch) or simply the Champion.

In Thrash of the Titans!, Ash battles Iris in a World Coronation Series match and wins, bringing his rank to 99 and advancing him to the Ultra Class.

In Toughing It Out!, a silhouetted image of the Eight Masters is shown, although the image clearly shows the first three revealed members of the Master Class so far, the figure of the other five is not revealed.
Considering that Raihan had just joined the Class in this episode, it's not possible to determine if characters like Cynthia were already part of the Eight Masters at this time.
