Unova Pokérap

Here are the sources for the new Pokérap: [1] [2] Lady Ariel 21:23, 9 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Not a rap song. Therefore, not a Pokerap. Second, the song is called Can't Stop (Catching em all). The article links to the page. Ataro (talk) 21:26, 9 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Regarding the trivia

Are we sure they made that accusation on all three Pokéraps? Cause if not, it shouldn't really be here and should be at the Kanto Pokerap page.--ForceFire 03:26, 10 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

If not in the main list, perhaps the College Humor Updated Pokérap 718 ought to go in the Trivia section? Voronx (talk) 18:07, 16 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • I agree, and as far as I know, it is the only PokéRap that currently contains almost all the Pokémon(excluding the event legendaries Hoopa, Volcanion, and Diancie). However, as it isn't "Official" it shouldn't go in the main section, but I believe that it is notable enough to get into the Trivia section.Zombiedude347 (talk) 01:16, 4 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Parody mention

Is there a page in Bulbapedia for mention of parodies? Specifically College Humor's Pokérap parody was impressive in its length, as well as being hilarious; I was thinking it deserved a mention (either here or somewhere else), especially as it covers Pokémon not mentioned in the other videos. Perhaps a section or note could be added for non-official Pokéraps? Voronx (talk) 15:23, 5 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Move to PokéRap

The rap pages are currently named as "Pokérap", but I did not find any official sources using this capitalization so far.

It appears that almost all CDs actually use the capitalization "PokéRap". These are the exceptions:

We also have a page named "Kanto Pokérap", but it appears that all CDs simply call it the "PokéRap" without mentioning the region name.

I suggest moving the pages like this to be in line with official usage and capitalization:

If no official sources used the "Pokérap" capitalization, why did we even use it in the first place? C.Ezra.M (talk | contribs) 07:08, 6 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
The Kanto Pokérap page already didn't have the CamelCase when I moved it the first time, didn't think much about it the time. I don't mind moving the articles to the CamelCase form, although I think the Kanto rap only had the CamelCase, but I don't know if we need to be pedantic about that.--ForceFire 07:14, 6 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
The recent official uploads for the episodes on YouTube have been using Poké Rap: Draft:List of Chapters by episode. That's probably the most modern instance we have. We're also only about a month away from those uploads reaching the GS one to see what they have to say, if it's something they wish to include, that is. MaverickNate 14:14, 6 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Oh that's interesting. Yes, using the most modern instance would probably be best. So in this case it would be "Poké Rap". Let's see if the next song will be officially called "Poké Rap GS".
Incidentally, I now realized that when this word is said out loud in the TV intros of episodes 2 and 5, the English subtitles display it as "Pokérap", but this appears to be minor compared to the CDs or the YouTube chapters. --Daniel Carrero (talk) 15:12, 6 February 2025 (UTC)Reply
Given the amount of errors in the early EN dubs, could chalk up the CDs saying PokéRap but then the anime saying Pokérap as an error in consistency. If we are getting new vids that are separating then into Poké Rap, I wouldn't be opposed to moving them to those pages and making PokéRap a soft redirect or into a directory page.
