Images

Since this is an Easter Egg where you have to try and spot them, I think it would be a good idea to have an image of their appearance in each movie. --SnorlaxMonster 05:14, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Why was the image I added from XY050 removed? TeridaxXD001 (talk) 21:49, 8 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Are we sure they weren't in M09? TeridaxXD001 (talk) 00:13, 9 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Rohta

Dogasu calls the mother "the Mother of Rohta" (scroll to the bottom). If anyone with the Japanese version of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew can put the kana/kanji (not sure which) here, we could move it to "Rohta and her mother", or something. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 14:39, 3 April 2014 (UTC) Reply

I'm pretty sure that refers to the town/kingom of Rota. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 14:43, 3 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Okay then, never mind. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 14:54, 3 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
Still, according to Dogasu, she is mentioned in the credits, so at least we could have a Japanese name for the mother. I think "mother of Rota" would be referring to a mother from Rota, not the mother of someone called Rota though. --SnorlaxMonster 04:10, 2 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

XY050

Since the Latias/Latios short is available on Pokémon TV, we now have access to their appearance in XY050 dubbed into English. The resolution is smaller (720p) but there is no TV Tokyo watermark in the upper left hand corner. Should we replace it? I was going to put this on the file talk page, but it claims I don't have permission. TeridaxXD001 (talk) 20:09, 19 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

M19 cameo

The M19 page links to here, but this page doesn't mention any cameo in M19. Looking back at the edit history, it seems that this page did mention M19 before, but it was removed in 2023 in this edit. There was also an image showing the cameo, here:

Aside from the mother's hair being down instead of in a ponytail, this seems (to me at least) to clearly be the mother and daughter. The daughter's hair and the pair's outfit colors seem to match up with how they're usually portrayed. I'm confused as to why this was removed? --Boblers (talk) 19:27, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

The daughter's resemblance is clear. They seem to have changed how they draw the mother. They're very likely meant as a reference to the mother daughter duo. M19 deserves a mention regardless, even if the written text notes them as a reference to said characters (if not literaly them).AdilTalk page 19:44, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I like this idea as a compromise. It allows us to still document the reference, and lines up with existing practices of mentioning lookalike characters (such as on Max's trivia, and on animated series character recycling).
In the Discord, Storm Aurora also mentioned that the M16, M18, and SM090 M&D appearances kinda deviate from the traditional designs as well. Given that, I think we can try a "lookalikes" section discussing the differences. --Boblers (talk) 22:16, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
That's a good approach! AdilTalk page 22:22, 14 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Their true significance

Could it be possible that the entire plot of the anime is just a story the mother is telling her daughter? DrBrainIsAwesome (talk) 16:53, 21 April 2025 (UTC)Reply
