- Yes, but Pokémon have been shown to be able to learn TM moves in the anime, they just have to be tutored them. Werdnae (talk) 01:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Smash Bros. reference
The reason I added it is because Goldeen can't learn Splash, and there are no other Goldeen that are popular for being useless. If that was what Sakurai was going for, he would've used Magikarp. Nutter Butter (talk) 22:46, 14 January 2016 (UTC)
- That's speculation. Sakurai has never stated why he used Goldeen rather than Magikarp, but saying that it is based off of Misty's Goldeen is just pure speculation.--ForceFire 03:34, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
- There should be a point when speculation isn't inappropriate - when the only existing evidence points towards it. If you just say "NOPE SPECULATION" to everything, you don't get much information. There's no reason for Goldeen to flop around except as a reference to the anime, which has a ton of references in Smash as it is. Nutter Butter (talk) 22:19, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
