When can Shadow Force/Phantom Force be avoided?

Hourensou provided a battle video (LB4W-WWWW-WWW8-F52S) in whichan Alolan Muk avoids Phantom Force after protecting itself. I have a suspicion that this might be a programing oversight that causes Phantom Force and Shadow Force to not skip accuracy checks when breaking protection. If I'm right, it may only occur after protecting, and it may also be the case in Generation VI. Can someone test? Nescientist (talk) 16:55, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

I tested it with a Drifblim on a wild Alolan Grimer (knows Minimize but no protection moves), and I can confirm that Phantom Force apparently does not skip accuracy checks or double power post-Minimize in Sun/Moon. Unfortunately I'm not able to easily test Shadow Force right now. VioletPumpkin (talk) 18:22, 4 September 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. I really wasn't open-minded this time, so I saw what I wanted to see (the increased damage I thought I had seen in that video was due to a crit), and my theory was off.
I had tested Shadow Force in Gen VI (and confirmed Phantom Force there as well). And while I can't easily test Shadow Force in Generation VII either, I have no reason to doubt Hoursensou's edit (and to not reinstall it). Nescientist (talk) 15:20, 5 September 2017 (UTC)
