Info From The Official Website

Here's what I've been able to glean both from the game's official website and Kotaku's translation of it:

  • Pokémon set to appear: Pikachu, Aipom, Furfrou, Herdier, Scraggy, Slurpuff, Fletchling, Ludicolo, Trevenant, Drifloon, Drifblim, Noibat, Noivern, Glalie, Rattata, Drillbur, Trubbish, and Litwick.
  • Detective Pikachu's personality: Pikachu is a huge coffee drinker. He tells Tim what he likes about different blends, and has a favorite café. Like Meowth in the anime, he sacrificed a battle skill to be able to speak to humans, and thus, his electrical skills are very weak. He also prefers to walk on his hind legs, which makes him much slower. He's a bit smug and self-important, and has a thing for cute human girls. Apparently, only Tim can understand him.

Is it true?

I've heard that a new live action Pokemon movie is coming and its still in development named 'Detective Pikachu'. Legendary Entertainment Studios is the producing company and the Universal Studios shall release it worldwide except Japan. Is it true about that upcoming movie? Even IGN has announced about the movie on Youtube. Ash Roy (talk) 05:32, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

Yes, it is! Bulbanews even wrote an article about it. Legendary Pictures to produce Detective Pikachu movie --Raltseye prata med mej 16:46, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

Move

It has been suggested that this article be moved to Detective Pikachu (video game), as (game) is typically used for game characters, and since Detective Pikachu is also a game character, further disambiguation is needed. To be formal, I support the move in the absence of a clearly superior option. Landfish7 13:36, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

Frankly I feel that _(game) should actually apply to the video games, and that _(character) should be used. That's my opinion for all articles such as Blue. Seriously, I think the current method is confusing. If I type Blue (game), I'd expect a video game, not a character. ¿¡Unowninator?! (talk) 18:47, 27 November 2023 (UTC)
"(game)" could just as easily mean a card game, board game, sporting game etc... the idea of dab tags is to be as specific as possible while differentiating between articles we just moved Pokémon Trading Card Game (video game) for that reason, and this move would be to try to unify that standard. 4iamking 19:11, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

I would much rather adjust how we name character pages than fully cede the "(game)" dabtag to them. However, I also don't have an issue with "(video game)" as a dabtag, so I do not oppose this proposed move (but I don't actively support it either). --SnorlaxMonster 12:49, 30 November 2023 (UTC)
