Contrary to rumors, it is extremely rare and difficult to corrupt an entire game with an Action Replay, and it's certainly not possible to trade hacked Pokemon that delete people's save files. These rumors likely originated from people who were against hacking and wanted to discourage it. Additionally, the Action Replay will not cause damage to the DS or the game unlike what some rumors say.
