In the Japanese version of {{game|Crystal}}, the Trade Corner in the [[Pokémon Communication Center]] uses a system that can be seen as the predecessor to the GTS. Players could request {{OBP|Pokémon|species}} via the [[Pokémon Mobile System GB]] and specify the [[gender]] desired, if any.
