Pokéball Trivia Challenge spaces are the most common type of space. When a player lands on this space, they must answer a trivia question. These trivia questions come in a variety of formats.
"Poké Memory" - a game where the player must remember which Pokémon was not included in a previously shown set.
"Power Match-Up!" - Players must decide on one out of two options wins against a given Pokémon.
"Who's is this?" - Similar to Who's that Pokémon?. Players must guess what Pokémon is shown based on their silouette.
"Watch Closely" - a random clip from Pokémon the Series is shown. Players must answer a question based on the clip.
Unnamed trivia quiz - trivia question based around various Pokémon facts.

Pokémon Center space
Pokémon Center spaces are four different sections of the game board. Players start the game at the center Pokémon Center space and move in any direction from that starting point. When landed on, players can withdraw or deposit their party of wild Pokémon discs with any stored in their P.C. Storage. In addition, these spaces can also provide additional effects such as letting the player roll again or catching an additional Wild Pokémon.
Team Rocket space
Pokémon Center spaces appear in four different sections of the game board. Players begin the game at the central Pokémon Center space and may move in any direction from that point. When landing on a Pokémon Center space, players may withdraw or deposit Wild Pokémon discs between their party and their PC Storage. In addition, these spaces may provide special effects, such as allowing the player to roll again or obtain an additional Wild Pokémon disc.
Academy Entrance space
Academy Entrance spaces are found on either side of Academy Challenge spaces. Like Pokéball Trivia Challenge spaces, players must answer trivia questions in order to proceed. These questions include:
Tic Tac Type! - A 3x3 grid is shown, players must choose a row or column where three of the Pokémon have the same type.
Evolution Solution! - Choose which amongst the three shown Pokémon does not belong in an evolution family.

Academy Challenge space
Academy Crests
Academy Challenge spaces are where players face a Pokémon Professor in a battle to win an Academy Crest. There are three Academies: the Grass Academy, Fire Academy, and Water Academy, led by Professor Oak, Professor Elm, and Professor Birch respectively.
Players must choose one of their Trained Pokémon to battle against the Professor’s Pokémon. The Professor’s Pokémon is selected at random from the following options:
Once the player selects their Pokémon, the battle begins. Clips from Pokémon the Series are shown depicting the selected Pokémon facing off. While type advantages increase the player’s chance of winning, victory is not guaranteed. Likewise, type disadvantages may still result in a win.
If the player succeeds, they are awarded an Academy Crest and may choose one of three Trained Pokémon discs to add to their party. Once a Trained Pokémon is selected, it is added to the player's party and is no longer avaliable for other players to select. If a player lands on an Academy Challenge space they have already completed, their turn immediately ends. The first player to win all three Academy Crests is declared winner and the champion of Champion Island.
Pokemon Discs are divided into two types: Trained Pokémon Discs and Wild Pokémon Discs.
Trained Pokémon Discs
Trained Pokémon Discs are large disks usable during an Academy challenge to win an Academy Crest from the Grass, Fire, or Water Academies. Unlike Wild Pokémon Discs, Trained Pokémon Discs are categorized from of the following types: Grass, Fire, Water, Electric, Rock, and Psychic. Type advantages/disadvantages primarily match up with the core series games, with the exception of Psychic, which has neither type advantages or disadvantages. Trained Pokémon Discs are also usable during Team Rocket Spaces.
To being the game, each player selects a trainer with their designated starter Trained Pokémon Disc. If the player is victorious during the Professor's challenge, they will be given the option to select between three different Pokémon based on the region that Pokémon Professor originated from. Once a Trained Pokémon Disc is chosen, it will be added to that player's party and will remain unavailable to any other players for the rest of the game.
Each player is able to obtain up to four total Trained Pokémon Discs. However, only three are available to use as the winner will be declared upon receiving the final Trained Pokémon Disc.
Wild Pokémon Discs are smaller discs obtained by players landing on Poké Ball Trivia Challenge spaces. By answering trivia questions played on the DVD correctly, players may collect a random wild Pokémon disc from the draw bag. These discs are primarily used by players to defend against attacks when they land on Team Rocket spaces. Players can only hold up to six Wild Pokémon Discs in their party and otherwise must place extra Wild Pokémon into P.C. Storage. Pokémon Center spaces are the only location where players may re-arrange the wild Pokémon in their party. Below is a list of Wild Pokémon discs.
