The fight at Spear Pillar continues. As Diamond and Pearl cling onto Dialga's horn with Kit and its tongue, Platinum realizes that Dialga and Palkia had used Roar of Time and Spacial Rend to attack them earlier. The boys catch sight of Platinum and Cynthia reading the scroll and Diamond smiles, confident that Platinum will find the solution to the conflict.

As Cynthia watches the fight, she is confused as to why Dialga and Palkia have stopped battling each other and wonders if Cyrus is gone. A voice begins to speak from nearby, and Cynthia recognizes it as Cyrus's. Suddenly, Kit is blasted out of the sky with an attack, sending Diamond and Pearl plummeting to the ground. Seemingly unharmed from the fall, Pearl turns to Platinum and encourages her to keep deciphering the scroll. When he turns to see Diamond, he is shocked to find him in front of Cyrus. Answering Cynthia's questions, Cyrus reveals that Dialga and Palkia no longer need him to give them commands, and that the creation of a new world is inevitable.

Elsewhere at Spear Pillar, Sird commends Jupiter for her ability to stay calm during the distortion as she fought against the Gym Leaders earlier. When Mars asks who Sird is, Jupiter introduces her as one of the Three Beasts of Team Rocket. Sird explains that she has always been a member of Team Galactic and had joined Team Rocket as a spy in order to capture Deoxys for Cyrus. She explains that when she tried to catch Deoxys by using her Darkrai to attack the Pokémon defending it, the clash between them resulted in some humans being unexpectedly petrified.

Sird tells the Team Galactic Commanders that she decided to research that petrification phenomenon. She explains that she selected a Grunt to take her place in Sinnoh, copying her consciousness into his mind. Sird reveals that this Grunt is the Advanced level Grunt, and that all along, he has been acting as she would. Because she had managed to escape Mewtwo and flee to Sinnoh, she decides to relieve the Grunt of his duties. She mentions that while she is surprised by his interest in Pokédexes, she sees his theft of them as a bonus.

A voice calls down to the Commanders, and they look up to see Riley and his Lucario. Riley tells them that when he found the spy eye that was watching Diamond, he sensed the presence of an evil aura that did not belong to the Advanced level Grunt. Identifying Sird as the source of the aura, he commands his Lucario to attack.

Meanwhile, Cyrus watches as a rift opens up in the sky. To his delight, it begins to absorb everything in sight.
