Effect
When the Pokémon uses a move successfully while the weather on the field of play is a sandstorm, it has a chance of raising its Defense and Sp. Def by one stat rank each. This skill can range from Gritty Guardian 1 to Gritty Guardian 9, with higher numbered skills resulting in a greater chance of activation. Gritty Guardian 9 will always raise the Pokémon's Defense and Sp. Def. The effect applies to all of the Pokémon's moves—including attack moves, status moves, and buddy moves—but not sync moves or max moves.
