Yuzo (Japanese: ユウゾウ Yūzō) is a recurring character in the Pokémon anime. He is one of Professor Rowan's five assistants who first appeared in Following A Maiden's Voyage!.
History
Yuzo debuted in Following A Maiden's Voyage!, in which he was seen taking care of the Pokémon at the lab in Sandgem Town while Rowan was out when a fight broke out between the Piplup and the Chimchar reserved for a beginning Trainer. Things became even more disorganized after a Staraptor was accidentally attacked and it began to use Whirlwind inside the lab. Yuzo began to worry what Professor Rowan would say. He was going to attempt to clean it up but he returned with the new Trainer, Dawn.
Yuzo appeared from Camping It Up! to One Team, Two Team, Red Team, Blue Team! as one of the teachers at Professor Rowan's Pokémon Summer Academy. His duties included handing everyone their rental Pokémon and refereeing several events, including the Pokémon Triathlon.
His latest appearance was in SS024, where he was seen outside Professor Rowan's lab studying a Shinx. He was then seen bidding farewell to Dawn on her journey to Hoenn.
It was revealed that the first Pokémon he caught was a Starly, and his sister's was a Bidoof.

When Professor Rowan's assistants were examining a Starly and Staraptor, Yuzo said that he was a big fan of Starly and it was the first Pokémon he caught on his journey, the other assistant said his was a Bidoof. | ||
