001Bulbasaur RG.png Due to special coding in place in the article, the artwork featured on this article will change every year on November 21 and October 15 in celebration of the releases of Gold and Silver in Japan, and Gold and Silver in the United States. This will only affect the artwork shown in the infobox. This changes every year, so when the time comes, here to return to the page and change the display.

Hat?

Wears a hat? That's a feather crest, and I don't see any sort of witch hat in there...--BJG - unsigned comment from Blackjack Gabbiani (talkcontribs)

You don't see the resemblance to a witch? I'm surprised. It is supposed to be a crest, but it's also supposed to be a pointed witches' hat. Heck - even it's tailfeathers are shaped like the bristles on a witches' broomstick. The whole design comes off as a witch/crow combination. - Zeta - unsigned comment from Zeta (talkcontribs)
And for that matter, why would a regular "feather crest", have a round, circular, flat part? - Zeta - unsigned comment from Zeta (talkcontribs)

Compare the pointed nose to the beak, the hat to the feather crest, and the back of the broom to Murkrow's tail feathers. Doesn't the whole thing seem at least a little similar to eachother? - Zeta, again. - unsigned comment from Zeta (talkcontribs)
...nope, still not seeing it. The way the tail is wrapped reminds me of sage brushing, but that's just coincidence.--BJG - unsigned comment from Blackjack Gabbiani (talkcontribs)
I see it. Now that it's mentioned... Evkl 19:58, 29 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Name Origin

I'm pretty sure that the "Mur" part of the name is derived from the word "murder", which is the name for a group of crows, not "murky". Anyone else have any input?--Yoshi1001 03:38, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Murk. Crow. Say it fast. Murkrow. TTEchidna 10:12, 19 September 2007 (UTC)

Third colour?

Is there such a thing as a gold Murkrow? A friend of mine said she saw one in Eterna Forest. Inker 04:20, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Shiny Murkrow are purple. There are no gold Murkrow. TTEchidna 04:30, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

Murkrow the steel type

just pointing out that under the listing of murkrow's attacks, steel wing is listed as having a STAB effect which doesn't make any sense unless murkrow was a steel type. Darkcloud1111 06:09, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Darkcloud1111

Gold Sprite Backwards

Why does the Gold sprite appear to be facing AWAY from the opponent. It's backwards...Was that a Nintendo whoops moment or is its eye facing the opponent so it's ment to look like that? Bttsstewart 01:37, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I'm guessing it was flipped, alot of the sprites have this issue. The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 01:49, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Heart Gold Location

Correction to Murkrow locations for Heart Gold. It need not be traded. It can be found in it's normal haunts from G/S/C as well as in the Lake region of the Safari Zone on Cianwood Chromehawk 10:35, 4 November 2009 (UTC)

Considering all HGSS location updates were unable to be completed before we discovered that stupid app, it's understandable. TTEchidna 02:07, 5 November 2009 (UTC)

"Hat" Size

Murkrow's "hat" seemingly doubles in size in Generation IV. Is this Trivia-worthy? --IWannaBeTheVeryBest 19:35, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

Is sprite trivia Trivia-worthy? No.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 19:39, 11 December 2010 (UTC)

French name

In the "Name in other languages" section, it says Murkrow's French name is "Corboss" wich is Honchkrow's. And i don't know Murkrow's French name.--Mamutepeq (talk) 13:54, 16 July 2012 (UTC)
