Spear Pillar[1] (named in the Japanese version as テンガンざん やりのはしら Mt. Tengan Spear Pillar)[2] is an unlockable stage in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Players can unlock the stage by completing Event 25: The Aura Is With Me. The background of the stage will feature either Dialga, Palkia, or Cresselia, who will occasionally do things to affect the stage such as tilting it diagonally or breaking the middle section of the top platform; Dialga reverses time to repair the damage. The members of the lake trio also make cameo appearances when something happens to the stage.

The stage's default music is a mix of "Battle! Dialga & Palkia" and "Victory Road". Optional pieces of background music are "Battle! Team Galactic" and "Route 209".

Effects

At some point Dialga, Palkia and Cresselia will effect the stage.

Dialga's Effects

These effects are exclusive to when Dialga appears. Dialga appears when the sky has a blue hue.

  • Beam. This is activated by both Palkia and Dialga, the only different is Dialga shoots a blue beam and Palkia shoots a pink one. It will hit anyone in contact with the light, It may be shot horizontically across the cave below the stage.
  • Earthquake. This effect will make the stage crumble and leave a gap between the cave and the stage. The gap will be in one of three locations, the left, center or right side of the stage.
  • Roar of Time. Dialga jumps onto the stage from the background, attacking players in close range to it with a rainbow coloured blast.
  • Slo-Mo. The speed of the game decreases, everyone on the stage is effected by this.
  • Tilt. The stage will be tilted at an angle, the player is safe from falling as it is just an illusion. This does not affect the controls.

Palkia's Effects

These effects are exclusive to when Palkia appears. Palkia appears when the sky has a purple hue.

  • Low Gravity. The gravity in the stage is decreased, so players fall slower than normal.
  • Spacial Rend. The stage is mirrored, which causes controls to appear mirrored.
  • Upside Down. This twists the stage upside down, which is however an illusion. As it is a simple 180 degree turn of the visual area, the controls are the same.

Cresselia's Effects

These effects are exclusive to when Cresselia appears. Cresselia appears when the sky is clear.

Moon Blades. Not as powerful as Dialga and Palkia's effects but can still cause damage. It doesn't do anything to the stage as Cresselia only throws the blades in a random pre-defined route. The player will be hit on contact.

Psycho Cut. Rains down several crescent shaped slashes in a random direction from a central point above the center of the stage.
