Sofu

Sofu (Japanese: ソフウ Sofū) is a minor recurring character in the Pokémon anime, who first appeared in Run, Heroes, Run!. He is the late grandfather of Hapu and a former Island Kahuna of Poni Island.

History

Sofu debuted in Run, Heroes, Run!, where Tapu Fini summoned his spirit from the dead to oversee a trial it had set up for Kiawe. After the trial was over, he observed Kiawe and Ash alongside the ghost of Kiawe's grandfather, before the both of them faded away.

He appeared again in Memories in the Mist!, where he reunited with his granddaughter in the Ruins of Hope. There, he informed her that Tapu Fini had accepted her as the new Poni Island Kahuna.
