Pokémon Card Game Battle Academy (Japanese: ポケモンカードゲーム スカーレット&バイオレット バトルアカデミー Pokémon Card Game Scarlet & Violet: Battle Academy) is a Japanese-exclusive beginner Deck Kit for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Battle Academy was released as two versions in Japan on March 8, 2024. It is based on the international Battle Academy and Battle Academy 2022 Deck Kits.
Information
Pokémon Card Game Battle Academy is a beginner-friendly Deck Kit containing everything needed to learn and play the game. There are two versions of the Battle Academy: a full version and a travel version, also known as the Anytime, Anywhere Battle Academy (Japanese: いつでもどこでも バトルアカデミー Anytime, Anywhere Battle Academy). The full Battle Academy kit contains four ready-to-play 60-card decks each containing two Pokémon ex; a full-size playmat; a sheet of damage counters, Poison, and Burn markers; and a Pikachu coin. The kit also contains beginner's guide manual booklets, and a cardboard deck box and damage counter case to keep everything tidy. The travel-sized Anytime, Anywhere Battle Academy is similar in content, except it contains two decks instead of four (namely the Sprigatito ex and Pikachu ex decks), two half-size playmats instead of one full-size one, and a damage counter storage bag instead of a cardboard box.
Each Battle Academy card is printed with a colored silhouette of the primary Pokémon at the bottom right corner, allowing easy sorting for each deck. Some cards also have a number next to the silhouette, which is used with the step-by-step first-time playing guide contained within the manual booklet for beginner play. The manual booklets contain QR codes which can be scanned to access video versions of the guides.
