Pokémon Card Game Battle Academy is a beginner-friendly Deck Kit containing everything needed to learn and play the game. There are two versions of the Battle Academy: a full version and a travel version, also known as the Anytime, Anywhere Battle Academy (Japanese: いつでもどこでも バトルアカデミー Anytime, Anywhere Battle Academy). The full Battle Academy kit contains four ready-to-play 60-card decks each containing two Pokémon ex; a full-size playmat; a sheet of damage counters, Poison, and Burn markers; a Pikachu coin; and beginner's guide manual booklets. The kit also contains four bands to hold the decks together when not in use, and a cardboard deck box and damage counter case to keep everything tidy.
