Synopsis
Sapphire has just found out how strong Ruby is after Nana defeated twelve rampaging Grumpig with one move. It struck only on their weak spots — their black pearls! Ruby tries to pretend that he isn't that strong, but Sapphire sees through him. She sends out Rono. Nana dodges the hit. Sapphire continues to be mad, but decides it's a good thing because he can help save Hoenn. He declines, however, bringing back Sapphire's anger. She changes into the clothes she wore in VS. Dustox, showing her anger at him. She tells him that when Ruby gave the note saying, "I'm sure you'll look nice in them," she was very happy since no one had ever told her that before. She wads up the papers and yells at him, telling him he should help those in danger. They walk away from each other.
In a tower of Fortree, Winona asks the other Gym Leaders if they're all right after the earthquake. Roxanne tells her that they'll know what to do when Tate and Liza arrive. Winona wonders where the two in question are.
Tate and Liza are at Mt. Pyre, guarding the Red and Blue Orbs. Tate, Liza, and Solrock can sense an intruder in the mountain. Then Solrock moves down a hallway, with Tate and Liza right behind it. In the next room, Tate remarks how hot it is. Mack says, "Of course it's hot!" He and a Team Magma Grunt appear behind flames. He tells them he's come for the Red and Blue Orbs. His and the Grunt's Slugma use Fire attacks, but Tate and Liza jump away, and their Double Battle starts.
