Trivia
- This item is a reference to the trade evolution by using a Game Link Cable in the first three generations of core series games.
- Prior to the introduction of this item, there is an evolution item in the first three generations of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series called Link Cable, which works similarly to the Linking Cord.
- All of the Pokémon that evolve using the Linking Cord can alternatively evolve if they are traded. Alolan Graveler, Boldore, Gurdurr, Phantump, and Pumpkaboo also evolve through this method, but have not appeared in the same game as the Linking Cord.
