Release information
This card was included as a Regular card, a Full Art card, and as a Secret Rainbow Rare in the Vivid Voltage expansion, first released in the Japanese Amazing Volt Tackle expansion. The Regular print features artwork by Ken Sugimori, while the Full Art and Rainbow Rare prints feature artwork by Hideki Ishikawa.
In Japan, a Mirror Holofoil S-P Promotional version of the Vivid Voltage Regular print was awarded to winners of New Battle events held at participating Pokémon Card Gym venues. Events that were scheduled to be held between January 22 and March 18, 2021 would have required players to use at least four Pokémon from the Single Strike Master or Rapid Strike Master expansion in their decks; however, all official events were postponed from January 12, 2021[1] due to the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Events officially resumed on March 27, 2021,[2] with decks requiring at least four cards from either Single Strike Master, Rapid Strike Master, or the Peerless Fighters subset. Events held from April 23 required players to use at least four Pokémon from the Silver Lance or Jet-Black Spirit expansion in their decks; this was expanded to include cards from the Eevee Heroes subset upon its release. A state of emergency was declared once again in the prefectures of Tokyo, Osaka, Hyogo, and Kyoto, causing the cancellation of official events in these areas from April 29.[3] This was initially set to end on May 11 but was extended to May 31 when emergencies were also declared in the prefectures of Aichi, Fukuoka, Hiroshima, Hokkaido, Okayama, and Okinawa.[4] Events in Okinawa were set to resume after June 20 but were put on hold again up to September 12 following numerous extensions to its state of emergency.[5]
The Vivid Voltage Regular print was reprinted as a Non Holofoil in the Japanese Sword & Shield Family Pokémon Card Game set. Another S-P Promotional print with different artwork by Naoki Saito was released in the Japanese Leon's Advice Trainer Card Collection on August 20, 2021. This print was later released in the special Crown Zenith expansion outside Asia. The Vivid Voltage Regular print was reprinted again as a Holofoil in the Japanese VMAX Climax subset.
