The sixth generation of Pokémon, is the sixth installment of the Pokémon series. Like previous generations, the first installments, Pokémon X and Y, were released as a pair. For the first time, the games will be in full 3D, and are expected to be released on the same date in all regions.

The new region draws inspiration from France. One city has a tall structure that bears a striking resemblance to the Eiffel Tower


Advances in gameplay

  • The games now feature a completely 3-dimensional environment, and 3D battle system, as well as 3D models for Pokémon as opposed to 2D sprites.

Starter Pokémon

The starters of the sixth Generation, like the starters of the previous four regions, follow the Grass-Fire-Water trio, with Chespin the Grass-type, Fennekin the Fire-type, and Froakie the Water-type.
