Feather

A Feather (Japanese: ハネ feather), known as a Wing prior to Generation VIII, is a type of item. They are used to boost the stats of a Trainer's Pokémon, except the Pretty Feather, which is instead a valuable item.

In the core series games
Mechanics
The first six Feathers each provide one effort value (EV) in a particular stat. This consumes the Feather.
Unlike vitamins, which prior to Generation VIII cannot be used if the Pokémon already has more than 100 EVs in that stat, Feathers can be used until the Pokémon had the maximum number of EVs in that stat or cannot receive any additional EVs.
The seventh feather, the Pretty Feather, has no functional use. Its only purpose is to be sold.
Acquisition
In Generation V, they can be found in Flying Pokémon's shadows on the Driftveil Drawbridge and Marvelous Bridge, or as rewards for earning low ranks in the Battle Institute or clearing areas in Black Tower/White Treehollow.
In Generation VI, they can be obtained from Super Secret Training. They can also be obtained from the PokéMileage Club minigame, Graffiti Eraser.
In Generation VII, they can occasionally be dropped by certain Pokémon found in ambush encounters.
In Generation VIII, they can be found on bridges, on Route 5 and in Motostoke Outskirts.
In the anime
In Reunion Battles In Nimbasa!, a full set of wings was announced to be the prize for winning the Club Battle. In Club Battle Finale: A Hero's Outcome!, the set of wings was won by Iris, who later sent them to the Village of Dragons.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga
In Mr. Perfect, Magician gave Blake a pack of wings he had requested from him. In Innocent Scientist, Blake revealed that he had given a Resist Wing and Rare Candy to his Dewott just before heading to battle Genesect, boosting his defenses just enough for him to be able to survive an Electric-type Techno Blast.
