Creatures, Inc. (Japanese: 株式会社クリーチャーズ Kabushiki gaisha Creatures) is a affiliate of The Pokémon Company which is itself a a joint venture by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures.[1] It was founded on November 8, 1995[1][citation needed] by Tsunekazu Ishihara with assistance of Satoru Iwata.[2][3] Creatures is one of the companies responsible for producing and licensing various aspects of the Pokémon franchise, including the Trading Card Game and other merchandise in Japan. Creatures owns one-third of the copyright to the Pokémon franchise (the other two-thirds owned by Game Freak and Nintendo). Its current president is Hirokazu Tanaka, while Ishihara remains as chairman.
