Reason: Plot info on XY061

As a Goomy, it first appeared in A Slippery Encounter! where it was dropped from the sky by a Swanna onto Ash's head. It looked weak and tired so Ash and his friends took it to a nearby river to heal it. After having water poured onto it by them, Goomy quickly recovered its health. When Dedenne popped out of Bonnie's bag to greet it, it hid behind Ash, as it is weak to Fairy-type Pokémon.

As a Goomy

After traveling for a while, Goomy was frightened once more by a disturbed Ariados - whose tree had been attacked by Chespin. Confused, Clemont decided to use one of his inventions to see why Goomy was so terrified of Bug-type Pokémon; this revealed that Goomy's homeland was attacked by various Bug-type Pokémon, including Ariados, until Goomy and other inhabitants were rescued by Swanna.

When Goomy and Pikachu were captured by Team Rocket, Goomy watched as Pikachu tried to escape. The cage absorbed Pikachu's Thunderbolt, so Pikachu rammed into the side of the cage until he made a hole big enough for them to squeeze out of. Goomy was able to slip through, but it was too tight for Pikachu. Seeing Pikachu's predicament, Goomy slipped back into the cage and used its slimy body to help Pikachu squeeze through.

While escaping Team Rocket, Goomy managed to slow James down with Rain Dance, giving Ash and his friends enough time to battle the trio. However, when Fletchinder and Pikachu tried to fend off Team Rocket they ended up getting confused by Inkay's Psybeam, making them attack each other. As Ash grabbed onto both of his Pokémon to try and calm them, Goomy began to admire the lengths Ash would go to in order to protect his Pokémon, motivating it to fight. After intercepting Pumpkaboo and Inkay's combined Dark Pulse and Psybeam, it used Bide to absorb the hits and eventually defeat Team Rocket. Later, Goomy indicated to Pikachu that it wanted to go with Ash, allowing Ash to capture it in a Poké Ball.

In One for the Goomy!, Goomy was sent out to meet the rest of the Pokémon. It was initially intimidated by the group, especially Dedenne; however, it warmed up to them as they were playing. When they were interrupted by Team Rocket's attempt to capture everyone's Pokémon, Goomy - along with Dedenne, Pancham, Serena, and Bonnie - was separated from the group. While Serena was battling Team Rocket, Goomy remembered what happened to its old home and fled. Team Rocket found Goomy and attempted to capture it, but they were stopped by Dedenne. Once Goomy saw how much Dedenne cared for it, it battled against Team Rocket long enough for Ash and the rest of the group to find them. After the battle, Goomy is shown affectionately nibbling on Dedenne's ear, no longer afraid of it.

In XY061, Goomy had battle training with Pikachu, and Goomy struggled, they were interrupted by an injured Spoink, after it was healed they followed to a forest inhabited by Spoink, but their territory had been taken over by a Grumpig, Ash and the others tried to stop it, but Grumpig took control of the Spoink an forced them to back into a cave, where they were captured by Team Rocket, who were in an alliance with the Grumpig, after Grumpig hurt some of the Spoink, Pikachu voluntarily let himself be captured to stop Grumpig, as well as Chespin who had a plan. Goomy and Dedenne snuck out to try and get the keys, but were caught by Grumpig, who attacked Dedenne, Ash tried to break out of the cage with Frogadier and Chespin tried to pick the lock on its and Pikachu's cage with Vine Whip. After Grumpig defeated Dedenne, Goomy remembered its homeland being attacked and it attacked Grumpig by biting it. It used Bide to counter any of Grumpig's attacks. However it used Iron Tail but Ash was able to break down the cage in time and took the attack for Goomy. Afterwards it helped to defeat Team Rocket by countering Inkay's and Pumpkaboo's attacks with Dragon Breath whilst Pikachu sent Team Rocket blasting off with Thunderbolt. Afterwards Grumpig and the Spoink made peace with each other.

Personality and characteristics

As a Goomy, with Ash

As a Goomy, it was a very friendly Pokémon, as it liked to show its affection to others by nibbling on their ears. It had also proven to be a capable fighter, but was initially scared until it decided to help Ash. Goomy was easily frightened and was afraid of Fairy-type Pokémon such as Dedenne since Dragon-types are weak against Fairy-types. It's also afraid of Bug-type Pokémon such as Ariados as they destroyed Goomy's original home. When depressed or insulted, Goomy tended to use Rain Dance on the offender, as seen when it used the move on Serena for calling it icky, and in One for the Goomy! where it used the move on Jessie.

As shown in A Slippery Encounter!, Goomy had a slimy body, which can help reflect attacks without it taking damage or it can put slime on others, making them slimy, as shown when it used this on Pikachu to help him escape from Team Rocket's cage. It also used to dry out easily causing it to become weak or tired, but could stop it by absorbing water.
