This is the Bulbapedia walkthrough for Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions. This walkthrough follows the remade Nintendo DS versions, not Pokémon Gold and Silver.

Route 35

The security guard in the gate has a favor to ask: take his Spearow and the piece of mail it's holding to the man by the pond on Route 31, and the man will reward you with TM44 (Rest). You can actually keep the Spearow - if you let one of your own Pokémon hold the mail, he'll take the message, but not the carrier. The rewards stay the same. Return here and speak to the guard again, and he will give you an HP Up.
