Aftermath (Japanese: ゆうばく Detonate) is an ability introduced in Generation IV. Four Pokémon have this ability.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with this ability faints by damage from a move that makes contact, the opponent will lose 1/4 of its maximum HP.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2, when the Pokémon faints, it sometimes causes an explosion similar to Selfdestruct, reducing HP by half on team members, and by 40 on hostile Pokémon.

Outside of battle

Aftermath has no effect outside of battle.

Pokémon with Aftermath

Single ability

No Pokémon have Aftermath as their only ability.
