Section 02: The Pokédex and Mystery Egg
So after choosing a name, head downstairs. Mom will automatically start talking to you. After that head to Professor Elm's.
Amusing the rival can be seen outside peeking in. That aside, walk in and choose your starter. You can chose from Chikorita, Cyndaquil, or Totodile. You don't get Poke Balls till later and the routes are infested with Pidgey.
Walk out and you run into the sidekick, aka the other gender you didn't choose. Go back and talk to mom. Then leave town. Elm chases you and hands you an egg. Too bad we can't keep it, it's for Oak. Continue on. Not much too write about here, you got Pidgey, Sentret, and Weedle during the day and I'm not sure about night. Can't really get lost here, however you do pass by an Apricorn tree. Turns out you can't get it cause you don't have anything to carry it in. Guess your bag's too full to carry a berry...
Keep going and there is a small town. The guy next to the entrance drags you around and introduces everything to you and then leaves you with the running shoes. On the touch screen, if you press the running shoes, you can run with out holding the B button. If you check out the market, you can by Potion, Antidote, and one other thing. Haven't figured out what that is yet.
Eventually you'll pass by the house that you can get a basket to carry Apicorns in. Grab it and head up from the right. You'll see another house. Head in and deliver the egg to Oak. The other guy gives you something but I forget what. I think this is the point where you get the Pokédex. Now head back to Elm.
