Super Smash Brothers Melee is a fighting game for the Nintendo Gamecube is the sequel to the Nintendo 64 title Super Smash Brothers.

It pits your favourite Nintendo characters against each other in fast-paced combat.

Pokémon Characters

Super Smash Brothers Melee features four playable Pokémon characters: Pikachu, Jigglypuff, Pichu, and Mewtwo.

Pikachu's attacks are as follows in Super Smash Brothers Melee:

Pichu's attacks are identical to Pikachu's, although Pichu damages itself while using them. Pichu's attacks are as follows in Super Smash Brothers Melee:

Poké Ball Pokémon

One of the items your character is able to pick up in Super Smash Brothers Melee is the Poké Ball, with it you can summon numerous Pokémon that fight against your enemies. These pokémon and their effects in the game are listed below:

Venusaur Similar to DK's Down + B attack, Venusaur causes an Earthquake around him that causes all characters touching the ground to go flying.
Charizard Similar to the fire flower, this Pokémon uses the Flamethrower attack when released. He alternates between shooting it left and right.
Blastoise This Pokémon uses the Hydro Pump attack when it comes out.
Clefairy Uses Metrenome to use the effects/attacks of a random Pokémon.
Electrode Very similar to the bob-omb, Electrode uses Explosion after 3 seconds. You can throw him in the last second or so if you're quick enough.
Weezing Emits gases and juggles and person that comes in close contact.
Chansey Uses Softboiled to releases eggs that may contain additional items.
Goldeen No effect, just flops around.
Staryu Chases after the nearest opponent, then locks itself into position and shoots Swift.
Snorlax Flies up into the air and descends over a large area of the screen using Body Slam. Any character who comes in contact with Snorlax in either direction is sent flying.
Articuno Uses the Blizzard attack. Anyone in the attack range when Articuno unleases this attack will be frozen for a few seconds.
Zapdos Uses the Thundershock attack. Anything in the attack range will be hit by several electrical surges, and sustain quite a bit of damage.
Moltres Deals quite a bit of damage to anyone who comes in contact with it.
Mew No effect, but earns bonus points in One Player and bonus modes.
Chikorita When released, unleashes a Razor Leaf attack hitting anyone in its path.
Cyndaquil Similar to Charizard, unleashes the Flamethrower attack, but only does so in one direction. It can be hit off the screen with a strong enough attack.
Togepi Has several attacks that are randomly selected with Metrenome, all with different effects.
Bellossom Puts any nearby characters into a deep sleep while it is visible.
Marril Runs across the stage, juggling any opponents briefly.
Unown Flies across the screen, returning with a large swarm of Unown moving in a random direction. Any character caught in the storm is damaged and juggled.
Wobbuffet Uses Counter, damaging anything that hits it. This is the only Pokémon that will damage the character who releases it.
Scizor Similar to Maril's tackle, except it flies around the screen and causes a lot more damage.
Porygon2 Uses a powerful Tackle attack. When it connects, it sends characters flying.
Raikou Uses a Spark attack, electrocuting anything that gets caught up.
Entei Fire Spin attack, trapping anyone who lands in it and dealing a lot of damage.
Suicune Uses a Blizzard of icy wind, causing high levels of damage.
Lugia A rare find, it flies up and then lands in the background, shooting large gusts of wind using Aeroblast.
Ho-oh Unleashes a spiral of Sacred Fire, dealing a ton of damage to anyone caught in the blast.
Celebi Like Mew, doesn't affect the battle, but adds bonus points where applicable.
