Ash's Totodile (Japanese: サトシのワニノコ Satoshi's Waninoko) was the last of the Johto Starter Pokémon to join Ash Ketchum’s party. His Japanese voice actress is 西村ちなみ Chinami Nishimura and his English voice actor is Kayzie Rogers.
History
In The Totodile Duel Ash and Misty both tried to use Lure Balls to capture him, but the feisty Totodile jumped into the bushes before being caught, leaving both trainers to wonder who really captured him. Ash and Misty then had a Pokémon battle to decide who could keep it; Ash won and kept the Totodile while Misty got a consolation prize of her Poliwag evolving into Poliwhirl.
A highly energetic Pokémon, Totodile is always happy and loves nothing more than to go into a dance- sometimes even in the middle of battle! Nothing can dampen this Pokémon's spirits- it even laughed at Ditto's impersonation of his Scary Face attack in Imitation Confrontation.
Totodile is also a romantic, having crushes on an Azumarill and a Quagsire in quick succession in Love, Totodile Style!. Totodile was used fairly often during the Johto arc and currently resides at Professor Oak's ranch.

- Totodile is the only one of Ash's Pokémon not to be kept inside a regular Poké Ball but rather inside one of Kurt's Lure Balls. Although Ash's Tauros were captured with Safari Balls, they stay inside regular Poké Balls.
