Talk:Gossifleur (Pokémon)
Japanese name origin
ヒメンカ: Himenka, could it be a simple feminine way of saying "am I a princess"; hime n ka given its feminine look? --Chickasaurus (talk) 14:47, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
- Alternatively 罷免 (ひめん): to dismiss someone and ka, so "can I be dismissed?" or is it based on any other similar reading words? --Chickasaurus (talk) 14:50, 5 June 2019 (UTC)
Alternative Potential Source of English Name
While fleur of course means flower regardless of how you look at the name Gossifleur, I believe that that there may be another potential source of of "Gossi" other than the genus of plant, Gossypium. I think it may also be inspired from the word "gossamer" meaning a material or substance that is very light or delicate such as a flower petal or a seeding dandelion. Korean Name Origin
꼬모카 is based off of 꽂, which means flower and 목화 which means cotton. Makes sense to me. -- Buddy002 (talk) 15:17, 5 June 2019 (CST)
