Talk:Casey's Beedrill
lack of screentime
It shouldn't have been created at all!-Billy4b2004 10:07, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- We only have it cause Ash caught it, then gave it to Casey. --ケンジのガール 10:31, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- (editconflict) Yeah maybe. Has anyone actually thought that instead of deleting all the articles that at least one editor has thought "notable", we could instead make a list article at (for example) List of the Trom's Pokémon? Would this be worth going into? (Here or elsewhere) — THE TROM — 10:33, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, this is an ongoing and seemingly never-ending debate in regards to which Pokémon can have articles and which ones can't. Why do we have an article on Casey's Beedrill? Put simply, it was originally titled Ash's Beedrill. However, disagreement came up in regards to the naming of it. It was agreed then that this article should be renamed Casey's Beedrill, just like Ash's Haunter being renamed Sabrina's Haunter.
- As for notability, I'm truly on the fence about this one. It has appeared more often than other Pokémon temporarily owned by Ash (ie, Seaking), but one of those appearances was in the main series while the other was in a side series. I personally don't see any harm the article is causing. It's not like it's taking up a whole bunch of server space.
- Trom, you have a good idea with your suggestion. However, I personally think in the case of non-notable Pokémon, a mention on the owner's page is appropriate enough. --PAK Man Talk 22:45, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
- Then perhaps a section in Casey's article titled "List of Pokemon"? We could put a brief description and all the infoboxes with VAs and stuff there; I know losing this information has been a concern for some editors. — THE TROM — 00:13, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- No actual screentime. I mean if Paul's Azumarill, a Pokémon that have participated in a Gym battle, can be deleted, why can a Pokémon that has done absolutely nothing except floating around can be kept.-Billy4b2004 15:21, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- This is where the difference between main characters and secondary characters come in. Jmath 15:28, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- I personally think that this article is quite unneeded except if that Beedrill has a meaning in the manga. That section is, after all, blank, so if it does appear there, somebody should check how much. UltimateSephiroth (about me · chat · edits) 15:34, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- This is Casey's Beedrill, not Ash's Beedrill after all. Having Casey's Meganium is quite enough. I personally doubt that a character like her should have articles for all her three main Pokémon.-Billy4b2004 15:40, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Its not how many articles a particular character has. Its how significant the specified Pokémon is. Jmath 15:46, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Then you tell me, how significant is Beedrill to Casey? And I know Elekid is significant but what's the point of having it if it is as short as a COTD page?-Billy4b2004 15:49, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

(resetting indent) To be honest, I think this article should be deleted as well. Chocolate((Talk to Me|Look at My Contributions)) 15:55, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- We just have to find out if it has any big involvement in the manga. If its big enough, this article would qualify. Jmath 16:03, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- Beedrill don't have decent screentime. And it being Ash's Pokémon once isn't significant enough. It will only be significant if Ash have ever done something with it.-Billy4b2004 16:02, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- He won the bug catching contest? Hey, that isn't even in the article! *rushes to write it in* — THE TROM — 19:54, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Ahem
Well I hate to be flogging a dead horse, but there's a section in this article about a completely different Beedrill owned by Ash in the ETOP manga? Er, um, what? — THE TROM — 10:10, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Also, Ahem
In the Trivia section, it says the Beedrill is the only Pokémon Ash ever gave away. That is false. He gave his Primeape to Anthony. You could also say he gave his Squirtle to Officer Jenny, but I guess that if more of a loan.--Trebligoniqua 17:30, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- He gave those away to train. Ash gave Beedrill away with the idea that he was never going to get it back. Notice that they are still Ash's Primape and Ash's Squirtle while this is Casey's Beedrill. --ケンジのガール 20:25, 27 November 2009 (UTC)
- What about Haunter he gave that to Sabrina or does that not count since he apperantly never owned it? Don Lark Kiin 21:34, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
Poké Ball?
I recently watched the episode in which this Pokémon is caught, while it is originally caught in the Park Ball, it is transferred to a normal Poké Ball sometime between Ash catching it and him winning the contest. --Nathan2055talk 23:26, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
- The sprite is wrong anyway, since the Sport Ball didn't exist in Gen II. I'll change it to a regular Poke Ball. XVuvuzela2010X 23:58, 17 February 2011 (UTC)
Worth mentioning that it's not available in Yellow?
Since Yellow is based on the anime, I think it's interesting that Ash caught a Pokemon unobtainable in that game. Unowninator (talk) 20:43, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
