Template:Infobox town Verndanturf Town (Japanese: シダケタウン Shidake Town) is a small, pretty town in central Hoenn. Its motto is "The windswept highlands with the sweet fragrance of grass".

There are two ways out of Verdanturf. To the east is Route 117 towards Mauville City. To the north is the Rusturf Tunnel, which was being constructed to link Rustboro City and Verdanturf. However, the construction disturbed the local Whismur who lived in the tunnel, and so it was canceled. Wanda's boyfriend tried to dig the tunnel himself, but was unable to do it. After the player character of Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald gets the Dynamo Badge, he or she can use Rock Smash to complete the tunnel and open a path to Route 116.

Places of interest

Happiness Rater

Wanda's House

Wanda and much of her family live in the south side of the town. Wally is sent to Verdanturf Town to live with his cousin, Wanda, and his aunt and uncle.

Contest Hall

Pokémon Coordinators flock to the town for Pokémon Contests. All Contest challenges originate in Verdanturf, as it is where the Normal Rank Pokémon Contests, essential for moving on, are located, and where Pokémon Coordinators can register their Contest Passes. In Emerald, however, the Contest Hall is replaced with a Battle Tent.

Trivia

  • The Poké Mart of this town is the only one in Hoenn where Nest Balls can be purchased.
