Talk:Brock's Steelix
Image
...Shouldn't this have an image of Brock's Steelix rather than his Onix on it? -Sketchies 20:20, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
I think we should have both. Cerberus 13:08, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
"It is unknown how Forrest evolved Onix but it may be the same manner as Misty's Politoed."
Now, I highly doubt this. First off Onix is too big to be able to reach a pocket. Well, good speculation though, but I personally think there should be something more likely.

- Remove it eh? I have feeling the policies here have some things in common with Wikipedia. Yeah, next time I see something suspicious I will remove it, I was just too nervous in doing it myself since I'm still pretty new. TheBlazikenMaster 12:33, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
- It's cool, don't worry about it. I know you do good work on Wikipedia. I'm Sukecchi. XD -Sketchies 15:08, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

Brock or Forrest?
In Brock's article, in the Pokémon section, should it be mentioned that Onix evolved into Steelix? I mean Onix evolved when it was with Forrest? JTalk 19:21, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
- It evolved offscreen but it is still the same Pokémon. Plus, there were no problems with Brock commanding it in battle. --FabuVinny T-C-S 19:42, 3 November 2007 (UTC)
Thats true, and strangely Brock was happy to see it evolved but I would be kinda pissed if someone evolved my pokemon without my permission. Though since the laws of Trade Evolution have been very loose in the series it could have evolved because Brock gave it to Forrest.
- Well, I wouldn't be, he did after all ask Forrest to take care of it. But I really think Forrest found a metal coat and evolved it off screen. TheBlazikenMaster 20:05, 25 April 2008 (UTC)
Brock's Steelix IS A MALE
JUST LOOK AT IT TWO PAIR FANG AND THE FEMALE HAS ONE - unsigned comment from Lindsayoris15 (talk • contribs)
- First off, don't type in all caps. It's annoying. Second, all of the Steelix prior to GenIV had two fangs. --☆ケンジガール 01:17, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- See, this is why people hesitate to take confirmed genders for Pokémon whose first appearance in a certain evolution form is prior to Generation IV based on visual evidence alone. Ash's Pikachu is the prime example--it debuted in the very first episode, a long time before the first episode where gender differences mattered. Sudden changes for game mechanics could possibly alienate viewers. Even though Ash's Pikachu is most likely male, it can't be 100% confirmed due to the game mechanic of Pikachu's tail being a telltale sign not existing at the time of its debut.
- Another example is Ash's Aipom's hair (caught in AG181). Since it appeared before gender differences mattered, appeared at the male length despite Aipom being confirmed as female on three occasions (two in the original, one in the dub). It wouldn't take on the female gender difference until it evolved under Dawn's control in DP060.
- In closing, don't use Generation IV gender differences as gender confirmation for a Pokémon that hasn't yet appeared in a Generation IV episode. It may come back to bite you later. --Shiningpikablu252 02:45, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, I just compared Ash's Aipom with Aipom's female sprite. It's cowlick looks like it's the same height, which hints that it was female from the start. - unsigned comment from Weedle Mchairybug (talk • contribs)
- The point is, it's risky. That's why you shouldn't do it. And please, sign your name with the tildes (~~~~). ht14 00:48, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
You want my opinion? I think they are completely unnecessary. I think that hidden comments should only be used to remind people something shouldn't be added to the article, or changed, or hide some material for awhile so it can be discussed on the talk page. However, I see no discussion on this talk page regarding the hidden comments. Does anyone think they're necessary? If so, tell me how they are. I really wanna know why the hidden comments are needed. I'm also against doing something without discussing it beforehand, so I won't just remove the hidden comments, I wanna talk about it first. TheBlazikenMaster 23:30, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
- Oh and I am bold by the way, I replaced hidden comments with brackets as this information is in my opinion as important to the reader as it is to us, the ones that edit this website. TheBlazikenMaster 23:32, 4 August 2008 (UTC)
Male?
It's been confirmed to be male in the games, but that may not mean it's male in the anime(though, most likely, the anime genders follow the game genders). Lovely Rose 01:47, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Should it be that Brock's Steelix is confirmed to be Male universally throughout the anime? Even though the anime has yet to show a female Steelix, I doubt there are any animation discrepancies with gender by showing two fangs on a male Steelix.

Sandstorm?
I saw the episode, Entei at Your Own Risk, and I didn't see Brock's Onix using Sandstorm unless I am mistaken. PattyMan 04:35, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
