Sludge (Japanese: ヘドロこうげき Sludge Stream) is a damage-dealing Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation I.
Effect
Generation I
Sludge does damage and has a 29.7% chance of poisoning the target. Sludge cannot poison a target that has a Substitute or already has a major status ailment.
Generation II and on
Same as Generation I, though with a 30% chance of poisoning non-Template:Type2s instead.

Horsea: Horsea squirts sludge from its mouth.

Weezing. Weezing spews sludge at its opponent.
- Used by James's Weezing from The Flame Pokémon-athon! to ???.
Muk. Muks spews peices of mud constantly at the opponent.
- Used by three wild Muk in The Psyduck Stops Here!.
Grimer. Grimer fires peices of dark-brown mud at the opponent.
- Used by a Grimer trained by Dawn in Camping it Up!.

- Misty's Horsea can use Sludge, although it cannot legally learn this move in any game. This is an example of anime move errors.
