Pocket Monsters is a shōnen Pokémon manga based on the Pokémon games. It is also the first true Pokémon manga.
It is chiefly a gag manga, using crude humor and slapstick. It has two sequels: Pokémon RS, which takes place in Hoenn, and Pokémon DP, which takes place in Sinnoh.
It is translated by Chuang Yi in Singapore, but it's not popular amongst western fans as the art style is so different; many of the Pokémon and characters are unrecognizable.
It appeared, in film form, as a sort of easter egg in AG086.
