DeapSeaScale
Does anybody know the rate of finding a DeepSeaScale on Chinchou? (I'd like to add a section for held items for it) - and at rate the chances for Lanturn/Relicanth/Carvanha/Sharpedo? Snowy 18:11, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Snowy
- We're currently finalizing a fancy colored template for that. It's generally 5% (or 50%) for held items in RSEFRLGDPPt(HGSS?), but this can be confirmed on other sites. —darklordtrom 05:33, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Water Gun error
Found a small error for when Chinchou learns Water Gun in Generation IV. It should be Level 12 instead of Level 13 (Yaminokame 04:32, 22 October 2009 (UTC))
type combination?
No other Pokémon has the same type combo as Chinchou and it's Evo? True, I mean Rotom but thats Electric and then Water?AquaMaster 13:26, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Pronunciation
I couldn't think of any better page to bring this up on, so I just thought I'ld say it here; I think that there should be something next to each Pokémon's name at the top of each page that says the correct pronunciation of the Pokémon's name. You could find the pronunciation using the anime and Pokédex 3D Pro. Mangaman13 (talk) 12:27, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- We definitely cannot use anime as a reliable source due to the inconsistencies of Pokémon name (Such as Raikou and Misdreavus). Official guidebooks are also unreliable due to the conflicting pronunciation between guides.--ForceFire 13:13, 19 March 2014 (UTC)
- I believe we used to have a pronunciation section in the infobox, but it was removed due to conflicting sources. For example, the PokéRAP calls Venusaur (I will use ^ above a vowel for short vowel sounds, and _ above it for long) Vênûsor, while "Island of the Giant Pokémon" calls it Vēnûsor. Pikachu Bros. Japanese romanization
How come we have Chinchou with the ちょう spelled out as ou, then 提灯鮟鱇 with ō on Chōchin but not on anko? This is all over the place... Either we skip elongated vowels for all names and call the Pokémon Chincho and the name original Chochinanko, or we use Chinchou and Chouchin'ankou or Chinchō and Chōchin'ankō. (I also think we need the ' between Chochin and anko so that people won't read it as cho-chi-nan-ko.) Eevee-Girl (talk) 14:31, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
- "Chinchou" is not a romanization, it's the English name; that simply is how that's spelled. The other comments are valid, for which we do have a style guide that's supposed to be followed. Tiddlywinks (talk) 14:44, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Ah, stupid me! But thanks for agreeing with the rest and for editing it! Eevee-Girl (talk) 19:28, 29 April 2014 (UTC)
