Flame Body (Japanese: ほのおのからだ Flame Body) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Five Pokémon have this ability, all of them Template:Type2.
Effect
In battle
When a Pokémon with Flame Body is hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that the attacking foe will become burned.
Outside of battle
In Pokémon Emerald and games afterward, this ability halves the number of steps it takes for an egg to hatch. In order for this to work, both the Pokémon with Flame Body and the egg must be present in the party. Magma Armor also has a similar effect.
