(Japanese: ワカバ Wakaba) is a character of the day who appeared in HZ020. She is a Gym Trainer apprentice, shadowing under Kabu.

Wakaba encountered Liko and Roy outside Motostoke Stadium and took them inside to see Kabu. Wakaba watched as they took on the gym challenge. Being a novice Trainer herself, Wakaba was in awed towards Liko's methods of extinguishing Litwick's flames from Sprigatito's Leafage, where Roy emerged victorious. Wakaba joined Kabu in a Tag Battle against Roy and Liko and after Centiskorch defeated Fuecoco.

It was her turn to battle Liko, however, she was not confident with her battle style, due to being unexperienced, and cause her Rolycoly to receive damage. Determined to win, she tried her best. Hearing from Wakaba, Liko felt bad and forfeited herself from the battle. Unfortunately, this did not make Wakaba happy, undermining the importance of a Pokémon battle between Trainers, leading Wakaba to run off. After being spoken by Kabu, Liko went to find her, where they both apologized to each other for how they acted and Wakaba giving Liko her encouragement to do her best in the future.
