I found that Sweet Scent is useful in some areas where walking through grass takes too long, but my Meowths with Pickup aren't finding anything in these battles. Do these battles have any other differences? I'm using Leaf Green CryptRat 21:41, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

At the moment, searching for "Sweet Scent" takes you to a disambiguation page, asking if you'd like to visit this article about the move, or a short article about an e-Reader application. Given that most people are likely to be searching for the move, would it be more sensible to make the Sweet Scent page a redirect to this article, but include a note here along the lines of "This article is about the move introduced in Generation II. For the e-Reader application, see Sweet Scent (e-Reader)."? –Ben10do (talk) 18:16, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Faded scent

In Pearl, I only seem to get a faded scent. Is there some requirement for it to make a Pokémon appear? Gywall(Talk) 15:49, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

U gotta do it in grass!--KukiTalk 15:50, 13 July 2008 (UTC)

I'm not that stupid, but when I do.. It always has said it faded. Gywall(Talk) 16:14, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
I received the "faded scent" message once when I tried to use Sweet Scent on Route 228 - the one with a Sandstorm. Perhaps it fades whenever the weather is anything but clear? --TMF Let's Go Mets - Stats 04:36, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
If that's the case, at least address it in the actual article or talk to an admin about it... ht14 04:45, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
It is the case. TTEchidna 05:32, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Repel and Sweet Scent

When I was playing my Crystal, I tried to find roaming pokemon (Raikou) by putting a pokémon (a level 36 Victreebel) in front that was a lower level than Raikou (according to your Pokédex, level 40), but still higher than the wild pokémon in that area. I used a repel so that the wild pokémon would not appear, then used sweet scent, but a random wild pokémon would still appear. Does a repel not affect sweet scent, or does Crystal require a pokémon to appear, even if it violates the repel (since a pokémon of high enough level is not in the area)? Bob.com bob 04:53, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Sweet Scent's effect triggers as normal even if a Repel is in play. In short, Sweet Scent overrides Repel. Your best bet to chase roaming legendaries is to bring tons of Repel and keep moving. --Shiningpikablu252 15:51, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

Is the disambiguation page necessary?

I agree it should redirect to the move. Chickasaurus (talk) 20:36, 30 August 2014 (UTC)
