The Pewter Museum of Science is one of Pewter City's main attractions. Admission is 50 Poké Dollars for a child's ticket.

Exhibits include skeletons of Aerodactyl and Kabutops, a model of a Space Shuttle, and a Moon Stone that fell onto Mt. Moon in the form of a meteorite. The player can view a larger picture of the fossils by "talking" to the displays. In Yellow, Red, and Blue Versions, The Aerodactyl and Kabutops zoomed-in fossil sprites are sometimes seen as glitches.

When the main character of Pokémon Red and Blue, Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, or Pokémon Yellow gains the ability to use Cut out of battle, they can sneak into the back of the museum and acquire the Old Amber that allows them to later resurrect an Aerodactyl.

In Pokémon FireRed and Pokémon LeafGreen, there's also a Move Tutor there who will teach Seismic Toss.

In the Pokémon Special manga, Brock works as a security guard at the museum. It was there that he somehow managed to revive and acquire a Kabuto that later evolved into Kabutops.

In the anime, Seymour is a researcher from the museum, but this isn't mentioned in the dub.
