The Johto Festival is an event organized by Khoury's dad to help people learn about the region of Johto. Ash and his friends first learn about it from Lyra, a trainer from Johto who is also a part of the staff. One of the events in the Johto Festival is a battling competition. If one wins, they will get a egg. Another part of the Johto Festival is free food from Johto, such as a MooMoo Milk stand. During the festival, Lyra may appear on a screen informing those at the festival about cities and landmarks in Johto, such as Ecruteak City and the Burned Tower.
