He has a high level of skill for the {{p|Goldeen}} scooping game, and demonstrates this at the game {{TRT}} runs at the [[Twinleaf Festival]]. After scooping almost all of the Goldeen out of the tank, [[James]] challenges him to a face-off. The winner of the competition would get all of the Goldeen; due to James's extensive childhood training in the game, the Master is eventually defeated and forfeits his Goldeen.

The Goldeen Scoop Master is well-known for his Goldeen scooping prowess, as shown by the crowd's reaction when he and James had their scooping competition.
