I can understand the "link each Pokemon once" for a paragraph, but should this also apply to lists of owned Pokemon? I can understand of Misty has two Goldeen, to link only the first of the two in the list, but if there's a list of her anime Pokemon, a list of her Pokeomn in Red and in Gold and in Stadium 1 and Stadium 2 and the card games, and I head straight for the Stadium 2 list, shouldn't Goldeen in that list be linked, even though it make have been linked in a paragraph or the Red/Blue Pokemon list before? --Meowth346

Good point. Since the sections of the Gym Leaders are so diverse, you might miss a link for each section. Ask Argy or Evkl for their opinions.

- Zeta

By the way - we should problably develop a special marker or something for Gym Leader while we're at it. Or at least the leaders that appear in multiple formats - particularly games, manga, AND anime.

- Zeta

Both seem reasonable suggestions to be.--Archaic 04:40, 10 Mar 2005 (UTC)

At Cerulean Gym Isn't she at Cerulean Gym right now? So wouldn't logic dictate that she actually has those Pokémon on-hand rather than in storage? - Ferret 09:32, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Good point, Ferret. As for the other issue, Pokémon should be linked in the lists even if they were previously mentioned in the article. It is reasonable to suspect that some would go right to a specific section rather than read the entire article. --Argy 22:01, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Misty isn't the only main character not to have their parents revealed. What about Tracey? - Kenji-girl

About Misty...

Shouldn't it be noteworthy that Mayumi Iizuka mentioned in her blog that Misty might return for the "Diamond and Pearl" anime? I mean, I personally feel that it should be mentioned. Another thing is that even bulbanews somewhat confirmed it, (or, if not, they at least confirmed that Mayumi Iizuka didn't mean specials considering that she actually confirmed the specials thing BEFORE she hinted at Misty making a possible return sometime in the future, and besides which, the 10th anniversary special's first [and only] airing in Japan was on November 11th, 2006, almost 5 months prior to making that announcement on March of 2007.), but then again, I don't run the site.

IIRC, that ended up getting interpreted as "I will be doing more specials". Has anyone seen anything on her blog since? For that matter, is there a link to the entry in question? - Cassius335

I do have a link to this entry: it's [1], or, for the Bulbanews Translation, it's http://bulbanews.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Kasumi_to_make_appearance_in_anime. And speaking of the bulbanews article, it pretty much confirmed the part involving her doing specials. However, the confirmation on her doing specials was, as I said, right BEFORE the hint at Misty's appearance.

Fixed the links, hope you don't mind. Bulbanews link sadly doesn't seem to have a translation and the original is going to require better translator program than Babelfish. - Cassius335

Yeah, when I said the "Bulbanews translation", I was meaning the lines that said "According to (Insert japanese link here), the blog of voice actress Mayumi Iizuka, Kasumi will be "Navigating", that is to say, hosting several parts of the first Pokemon 10th anniversary special, which airs on TV Tokyo tonight at 7 pm JST. She hinted at a further appearance sometime in the future.", since they had to have translated the blog to get this information.

Ok, I think that i should add in that tidbit in regards to Mayumi Iizuka hinting in her blog that Misty will be appearing in Diamond and Pearl. I mean, If they allowed something that Eric Stuart said in a K-Zone article in regards to Brock's Last Name to be said in the Trivia section of Brocks article, I'm pretty sure they will allow something in regards to Mayumi Iizuka's Blog in regards to Misty here.

You can try, though someone might take it out again because they think it's 'fanwank'. Make sure to add that no such appearence has happened yet. - Cassius335

EP001

Misty appeared in episode one so I'm changing her profile to EP001-AG145 and MMop-present because she has not appeared in the season nine anime

Misty's outfit

Do you think you could find a picture of Misty's current outfit and put it below her old outfit

Of course! Haruka uzumaki

ummm... shouldn't there be a listing of accomplishments/competitions that Misty has been in?

I mean, Why not? I mean, Misty has had her fair share of accomplishments, She competed and was champ in the Queen of the princess festival contest, She competed in the race, she is the champ of the water race in the 5th movie, she ranked 3rd place in the whirl cup, she was champ in the seaking fishing tourney, and many other things that she competed in. I mean, if you gave a list for the accomplishments in non-gyms/leagues/BF battles in ash's page, and accomplishments in Jessie and James' respective pages, you can most certainly allow an accomplishments/competitions list for misty.

Speaking of Jessie, I also noticed that she didn't have the fact that she ranked 2nd place in the Queen of the Princess festival contest listed under her achievements/competitions page. I mean, what exactly is the matter with that contest? If you were able to reference James winning the Orienteering competition and his ranking 2nd place in the ring-leading tournament in his page, you can most certainly allow the ranking of 2nd place in the queen of the princess festival contest in Jessies page.

~~Weedle Mchairybug~~

I guess so. But Misty didn't win that water race. It was the guy with the Walmer. And it was the 5th movie. And she was in second place in the Whirl Cup competition. The only thing Misty really one in the series was the Princess competition. --ケンジガール 02:14, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

wait a minute... I thought the Serebii.net Movie summary said that she actually was the CHAMP of that race... I thought Misty beat Rossi (you know, wailmer man) and I thought she won that medal that tells the legend of the Lati@s and the origin of Alto Mare. Also, didn't trinity beat Misty and yet lose against the guy with the Feraligator? And even if Trinity beat Feraligator man, it still proves that the fight of Misty vs. trinity wasn't the final battle of the tournament. So in that sense, yes she did win 3rd place in the whirl tournament. So really, why NOT mention those 2?

Aso, I just corrected my Fau Pax in regards to which movie. I did think 5th movie, but I typoed.

She was top 8 at the Whirl Cup and won the race in movie 5.
And the simple reason the list isn't there is simply because no one has got round to it yet. That's the way of the wiki - you are welcome to add it yourself. --FabuVinny T-C-S 17:00, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

OK, stop edit warring over the contest in EP050. Personally, I think it warrents inclusion since it was set up as a tournament but let's discuss this. --FabuVinny T-C-S 23:27, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

actually, I eliminated the most recent addition in light of what Kenji_Girl said on her talk Page.

Misty's DP appearance

Doesn't anyone believe that Iizuka may have been referring to Misty's special lure in DP034 rather than Misty herself? I mean that episode came a few weeks after she announced it. I think that's most likely what she was talking about. But that's just me. --ケンジガール 21:48, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

I doubt It, I mean, considering that it was her Voice Actress who stated it, I don't think so. Now If it was her Animator who stated it, then, yes, it would have been far more likely.

Given that it is her voice actress, the chances of it being the Misty lure are really unlikely unless she misunderstood something an animator said to her.
It is odd that we haven't seen Misty appear since then but Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon was recorded eight months before the Japanese audience got to see it. --FabuVinny T-C-S 23:26, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Since May just made her guest appearance, I wouldn't count on Misty showing up for a while. I seriously doubt they'll do one right after the other. I think once the gang reaches Cannalave City she'll show up. It is near water and a major port, so it would be a good time for her. She might even travel to Iron Island with them! i hope anyway... but i get the feeling Iizuka did mean the lure. Refering to something over 80 episodes into the seires doesnt seem to likely. I have to go with Kenji-girl one this one. Hatsumi 23:47, 17 May 2008 (UTC)Hatsumi

The problem is that Mayumi Iizuka is a VA, I mean, if the blog was written by, oh, I don't know, Misty's concept designer, then, yes, that person WOULD have meant the lure, but this was made by her VA, and since, if she mentions something that points to Misty's return (or at the VERY Least a cameo from her), It would mean a SPEAKING role, which means that the character herself would be the one making the appearance, not the Lure.
Weedle Mchairybug 01:22, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
I know. im just saying its probably gonna be a while. T_T to bad though. Hatsumi 01:43, 18 May 2008 (UTC)Hatsumi
I think it's been a bit too long since that blog post was made for it to count now. It would really help to know a little bit of context. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 01:50, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Wikipedia kept it's source of Aonuma saying in a Press conference with IGN that Ganon will appear in twilight Princess for TWICE As long as this one (there was a 2 year gap between the press conference and the release of TP, 3 years by America's standards, and there was too much controversy in the Zelda Fandom as to whether the Zelda Staff was lying or not, and despite ALL that, until it's release, they kept it in. Heck, they even kept in the statement that Aonuma had released concept designs of Sheik AND Ganondorf as well.) If they were able to do it that long, we should as well.
Weedle Mchairybug 02:28, 18 May 2008 (UTC)

Page locked?

Why is the page lockedLego3400 02:26, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

Because of "edit wars". --ケンジガール 02:35, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
The edit war was over whether the private tournament in EP050 should be considered a notable achievement for Misty. It was first put in by Weedle Mchairybug, who put it back in a second time after Kenji-girl removed the reference. However, Shiny Noctowl decided it was notable after Kenji-girl removed it the second time and reverted the edit. Kenji-girl removes it a third time, Shiny Noctowl puts it back in again for the fourth time. By this point, Weedle Mchairybug (the original instigator) has given in and makes the fourth removal. Shiny Noctowl does another reversion to put it back in a fifth time. Fabu-Vinny had had enough at this point in time and put the page under protection.
And this isn't the first time Shiny Noctowl's caused controversy. He's been known to defend the notability of articles whose entire premise is not notable and can't be made notable no matter what (such as an article about ROM hacks in general), and he once tried to get the occurences of Template:tt used for Pokémon in Japanese anime episode titles changed over to Template:ptt. --Shiningpikablu252 02:41, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Why are you completely blaming me? Kenji-Girl is the one who removed the completely legitimate and notable content. And, as you can see here, Fabu-Vinny, an administrator, agrees with me that it should be included. And how would it hurt anyone to include it, anyway? Shiny?! 13:15, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

God...Stop this...I think the little 'contest' for Togepi is not relevant as it was not official, only Team Rocket and the twoips participated. Everything else is good, so there! Agent #448 DP | E | 13:19, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

IN OTHER WORDS...Only OFFICIAL tournaments, got it? (We also need to remove for Ash :P) Agent #448 DP | E | 13:21, 12 November 2007 (UTC) And Meowth...and Brock...

First of all, an administrator agrees with me. Second, since it was a contest, and it caused Misty to get her main Pokémon, Misty actually won something. (Okay, actually she got second place, but Togepi didn't like Ash, who won. However, that doesn't mean that Misty was guaranteed to get Togepi! If Team Rocket had won, they would've kept Togepi for themselves, even if Togepi didn't want to be with Team Rocket. Shiny?! 13:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Can't we just list it as "unnofficial mini-tournament?" And what about that contest where Jessie used Aipom? That was unofficial. Are we striking THAT from record? Cassius335 14:23, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Now we can strike back because that's her only accomplishment. Cerberus 19:54, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok... Should the fact that Misty's leaving the main cast caused controversy among the fanbase be mentioned in the article?

I mean, I feel it is worth noting as well as the fact that several people want Misty back for various reasons. I mean, If you guys allowed the Buizel article to mention the the huge "Ash's Buizel or Dawn's Buizel" Controversy that was there since the 10th movie poster was unveiled as well as the fact that several fans want Brock axed out and the fans that don't think that Brock could leave now, I think that the whole "Misty Leaving/Bring Back Misty" controversy should recieve a mention, if not in the main anime bio, then at least the trivia section of the article.

I would actually argue the opposite (that the Buizel Controversy be removed from that page), because when you let one "Controversy Section" remain that isn't really necessary to the article, then you have to let in the others. Would you be just as happy to see a whole "May Leaving/Bring Back May" Controversy section in that article?--PikamasterADV 02:40, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Misty leaving was a really big issue, though. Certainly far more controversial than the transfer from May to Dawn. --FabuVinny T-C-S 09:57, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Speaking only on this case, I'd say it's worth mentioning. Last I heard, many people stopped watching the show after Misty left and many more formed May Hate Clubs simply because she wasn't Misty. Hell, Cybercubed could probably write a page on it, so a paragraph isn't out of the question. Cassius335 11:33, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok, I edited in the paragraph that mentions the controversy in both the main Anime Bio and the Trivia section, because I thought that even if one gets erased, i can still have the other on there. ~~Weedle McHairybug~~

Isn't the purpose of a wiki supposed to be to provide a neutral point of view? Mentioning any controversey would be in direct violation of that. However, I would tolerate it in the trivia section, but it should have no place in the bio. - PDL

As long as the article doesn't actually take a side, I don't see the problem. Cassius335 11:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Ok, PDL, I think that it [the controversy] should be mentioned in this article, also, I should just point out that Brock's article actually referenced a current fanbase controversy in his bio (and, just FYI it's Here and Here), so I don't think that that part means anything (at least, certainly not in this wiki.) And besides, I'd add it back into the trivia section of the article, but apparantly someone removed it when i posted this Info the first time around. I'll add the info back into the trivia section (much less in the article as a whole) as long as someone doesn't attempt to remove it in the future (yes, that goes for you too, PDL).

~~Weedle_McHairybug~~

Honestly, I don't see why the article even needs to even bring it up. It only seems to make Misty appear to be much more important to the anime then she really was. The anime as a whole hasn't actually suffered now that Misty is no longer a part of the main cast of characters (Save for a few belly-achers... You know who you are... >_>)

Plus it shouldn't even an issue any longer since it's been nearly 6 years now.

Anyway, I put it in it's own section since it shouldn't be included in the main bio. I won't delete it, but I still think it's pandering to Misty fans who still complain about Misty not being in the anime.

- PDL

Fine then, I don't really care if it is in the Anime section, the Trivia Section, or even it's own section. As long as it is mentioned in the article, it is all right with me. (Though I personally disagree with the whole "Anime hasn't suffered" arguement considering that, before Misty left, It's ratings WORLDWIDE were fairly strong. But AFTER Misty left, the only country that even HAS Decent ratings is Japan, since people very rarely watch the anime anymore, and the Movies are currently being released DTD/DTV, which hints at their low ratings, as well as europe not even getting several of the movies/seasons until at least 4 years have passed in japan, and 3 years here in the USA. Heck, fairly recently, China banned pokemon from its airwaves. If all of these things doesn't constitute as the Anime Suffering, then I don't know WHAT does. But, whatever, It's your opinion.)

However, Now that you have mentioned it, you've really got some work to do. Since you feel that fan controversies should NEVER be mentioned within an Main Anime Character's Bio, I highly suggest that you delete certain sections in Brock's Anime Bio (or at least move them to the trivia section/it's very own section.) since, believe me, If you read the last sentence of the last paragraph in Brock's Character subsection of his character Bio, you'll notice that the entire thing is swimming with fan complaints among other things. Same deal with the Last few sentences of his History section. Oh, and in case My links didn't work out for you, It's these lines:

From the Character subsection:

"His role has always been purely one as support for other main characters, but some fans find this disappointing and want him to take a more active role in the series to make his character more interesting."

From the History section:

Brock is among the longest-lived main characters in the anime, only being absent from the Orange Islands season and thus ranked under only the permanent characters of Ash, Pikachu, Jessie, James, and Meowth. Because of this, some fans believe he is too worn-out as a character and should be removed from the cast. Others believe he has established himself as a permanent character of the main cast, and do not see him being removed from the cast any time in the near future.

...and if you won't do the job, then I will.

anyways, that's all for now.

~~Weedle Mchairybug~~

Honestly, I don't really give a damn about Brock's bio all that much. Or even this one all that much anymore anyway. Please quit embarassing yourself any further by typing paragraphs about old news that barely anyone cares about. In other words, stuff it.

And to think, I used to be a big fan of her...

- PDL

Proposal of splitting the article

I've noticed here on the Bulbapedia, other major characters of the anime such as Ash, May and Dawn all have separate articles from their video game counterparts, unlike Misty and Brock. I was thinking that in order to potentially improve consistancy of the articles, that we could split off seperate articles for Misty and Brock's anime incarnations like what is currently in place for Ash, May and Dawn. Thoughts? Like the idea? Hate the idea? Don't care either way? Sato 15:34, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Makes sense to me. Cassius335 16:25, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Alright with me. Cerberus 21:02, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Don't forget Talk:Brock has the same discussion... TTEchidna 21:50, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Does NOT make sense to me. Ash and Red are actually two DIFFERENT characters while Game Misty and Anime Misty are not. More or less important, still the same. And what's wrong with big articles? --Maxim 14:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)
Editing them in old browsers that were released before the millennium started? That whole "greater than 32 KB long" warning and such. TTEchidnaGSDS! 03:56, 30 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm against this. Misty, aswell as brock, was only a gym leader.. she had a minute-long role in the games and only a paragraphs worth of information. May, Dawn and Red were main characters in the game and thus have alot more information.

Also, Misty and Brock's appearances in the anime only added information such as motivation, goals and pokemon whereas May and Dawn's anime roles contradicted their origional characters. Kanjo 02:54, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

Cast Change Contraversy

Should this section be moved up nearer the anime one? Cassius335 22:18, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Should this section even exist? I know I was for it before but it sounds like Cybercube's conspiracy theories rather than the actual reality. --FabuVinny T-C-S 19:28, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Well, technically that section was my Idea, but i didn't make it its own section. In fact, I thought that something like this should be, if not in the Anime character Bio section, then at least the trivia section. however, someone erased it from the anime section (I think PDL) and moved it to it's own section.

there were two copies back then, so I took out the duplicate. Cassius335 22:58, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
ETA: Ah, you're right. It was PDL...
[2] - Removing the duplicate
[3] - PDL creates the section.

Cassius335 23:03, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

I gave it it's own section since Weedle McHairybug would throw a fit if it was deleted outright. I'm suspecting that he was the one who wrote the paragraph in the first place. - PDL

I think he argues for the sake of arguing, so don't worry about him. Cassius335 10:52, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Just so the both of you would know, No, I don't. while I do do that when I'm in a very bad mood, That isn't the case here. Believe me, I truly felt that the cast change controversy should be mentioned in the article. And also, YES, I am the one who wrote the article in the first place, and the only reason as to why I even made a duplicate of it in both the Anime Bio As well as the Trivia Section is because I felt that, even if one ends up getting erased, it would still live on.

~~Weedle_Mchairybug~~

It should be under anime. This section is not needed. --Maxim 13:33, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
Considering that the anime bio is supposed to be about what happened to Misty in the anime canon, not the effects it has caused in the fandom itself. It has no place in the anime section. - PDL

Just for the sake of argument, would Weedle_Mchairybug be opposed to a similar paragraph being added to May's page?--PikamasterADV 13:46, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

May's departure wasn't nearly as controversial.
And as this is about the reaction to the anime, it does belong in the anime section, if anywhere. --FabuVinny T-C-S 14:50, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

So move it back to where it was, basically? Works for me. Cassius335 18:19, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

well, since you seem to be in favor for the change, I have moved it back into the Anime Bio, I have also taken the liberty of adding a little thing in there that might explain where this Inappropriate stereotype part in regards to May and dawn (not to mention one of the reasons as to why there is a degree of hatred of May and Dawn) came to be. See, I think that some of the Misty Fanbase noticed how those two girls acted under the same stereotype as those girls, and I know that there has to be some people that hate them because of how they act because I'm one of them. if you feel it to be inadequate, then go ahead and erase that little tidbit.

But the way May and Dawn act has nothing to do with the actual reaction to Misty leaving. And, believe it or not, most of the current fandom doesn't hate May or Dawn. Most of Misty's fans have got over it - either leaving the fandom or accepting May's presence. --FabuVinny T-C-S 00:04, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Ok, the rewritten version is far more neutral. --FabuVinny T-C-S 00:24, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

I guess it's somewhat better now, at least it doesn't have terrible weasel wording in it. - PDL

Protection

As requested, I'm gonna protect this. I'll set it to expire in a week. Get whatever mess we have here ironed out. TTEchidnaGSDS! 16:23, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Man you guys. You gotta stop making Misty's page protected. Funny part is, that both are kinda ironic. Controversy section's controversy... arguing about the Togepi contest, which was started by an arguement... Tina δ 16:26, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
It's a bit of a minor thing to go into protect mode over too; which way round to put two paragraphs. All I was trying to do was to intergrate the controversy bit into the article a bit better. Cassius335 17:33, 5 December 2007 (UTC)
Due to recent events (I.e. SteelBastille's vandalization) I think we may need to put it in protect mode for the time being. I mean, if you haven't noticed, he has been editing messages and implementing them with extremely inappropriate, leud pornographic sentences. And believe me, that's far more serious than the previous two times that we had to initiate protection mode for this article. ~~Weedle_McHairybug~~
SteelBastille2003 is a minor vandal with too much time on his/her hands. That's no reason to protect a page like this. --ニョロトノ666 19:33, 8 March 2008 (UTC)
Well he just totally deleted everything on the page. Maybe it should be protected, but for like 5 days max. --Theryguy512 19:57, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it's needed to protect the page just 'cause a stupid person vandalised it. The protection is not necessary. うずまきハルカ 20:04, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

Is there a sprite of Misty from generation one? --Dawnfan47

Does one exist? Of course. Do we have one uploaded? No, or it would be in the article. --FabuVinny T-C-S 20:05, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Age?

You probably have a reference for it, but if you can only become a Pokémon trainer at 10, how could Misty (and indeed, other Gym Leaders) become leaders at 10, also? Bomba22 10:25, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Maybe it was passed down from their parents who were killed in a car accident or by Voldemort or something... Crystal Lucario 11:13, 2 April 2008 (UTC)

Actually, even BEFORE Cerulean Blues, they have stated that Misty was the Gym leader (e.g., Misty: I am a Gym leader, too. I AM THE FOURTH SENSATIONAL SISTER!! -from The Waterflowers of Cerulean City), and actually, that line alone made the entire premise of the Hoso episode extremely confusing (It made it seem as though she just became the gym leader for the first time ever even though she said that she was already a Gym Leader in both Waterflowers in Cerulean City AND Mewtwo Returns.
Weedle Mchairybug 11:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)
No, the point of the Hoso was that various Gyms were being tested to make sure they were up to standard. If the Older Sisters had been in residence, I suspect Cerulean would have been closed. - Cassius335 17:10, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

How do we know she was 10 in her debut anyway? Mooites 02:48, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello everyone, for a while now, i've been looking on the misty pages and i didn't see this pucture so i though i ask if you would add it. i've been having this picture for a while and i think you'll like it alot, the data can be taken of, it's just for looks, but the screen shot would be best used for an episode explanation rather then a mini article, but using the screen shot with this pic would be good as well.

So what do you think? I like it, please respond to show you feelings and please add it if i is good enough. in my personal opinion, i loved the hoenn series and when she appeared in different uniform, i was smitten with much happiness (Gaiden 16:54, 8 May 2008 (UTC))

Ok gentlemen, no need to get testy, i wasn't promoting theft of any kind, mind you, most images i submit is from different sources, but never-the-less i would never do anything that would hurt in any way; In this case, i would try to find the website, it doesn't look too bad, not to me anyway, but the picture in question originally came in that format, trust me-you if there was i wouuld present it in that way, that artist as well is somewhat hard to find, i'll see what i can do Gaiden 04:20, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Misty was in the top 8 in the whirl cup, not top 16.

Sigh, I just finished reverting an edit on Misty being among the top 16 in the whirl cup. She ranked top 8, not top 16.

First off, Trinity lost to the guy with the Feraligatr, who then became the champion right after beating her. Taking into account that Harrison, after Beating Ash, lost to Dickson, who then became champion, and Ash was ranked among the top 8, that means that Misty actually was ranked among the top 8, not the top 16.

so please, please, PLEASE don't say it's top 16. Weedle Mchairybug 12:00, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Ok, please stop mentioning the interview here.

Ok, I just edited out a blurb about how Misty wasn't returning due to what Masamitsu Hidaka said in the Pokebeach interview, because 1. he's a storyboard artist who makes his living designing backgrounds and certain characters for an episode, and has barely any influence on a storyline in any way shape or form, If it was a writer, or maybe even a VA, then that would DEFINITELY count as a source.

And besides, he doesn't even work with pokémon anymore (He left the job after Battle Frontier), so his words in regards to future events wouldn't have any corrolation to what the actual writers are thinking. Therefore, I reverted it back to the original edit of the Misty leaving controversy. Now, if you want me to add in that blurb, I'll do so, but only under the condition that I also add in a footnote that, since he no longer works with pokemon, that doesn't necessary mean that it's correct.

Can we have actual rating statistics?

Can someone please provide evidence of the anime's ratings so we can analyze how much of an actual impact Misty's departure had on the series that was not attributed to other factors? PsychoRobo 17:26, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, Misty's departure boosted the anime's ratings (not among mature fans of course). Most of the fans who had either started watching the show from the beginning or the start of Johto had already left due to growing up or the endless fillers. May's creation brought in a new set of children who came to know the show and didn't wonder who Misty was. Aura-Knight 20:40, 5 August 2008 (UTC)

Honestly, do we even need to bring this up anymore? It's been how many years now? over five? It's only retards like Weedle who moan and bitch about these things... - PDL

I merely wanted to bring this up to gauge the relative merit of the Misty leaving controversy, and whether its section in the article should be modified accordingly. After all, if it is indeed fans making a mountain out of a molehill (like I suspected), then it is a possibility that it should be pointed out. PsychoRobo 02:12, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Pierced ears...

Which Pokemon Sunday segment mentioned that Misty had Pierced ears? I mean, you know, which airing? I need to know since some people would need to know that question. I'll be sure to edit it into that part of the trivia section (that is, if no one has done it yet, or if it wasn't erased) as soon as I get an answer. Weedle Mchairybug 09:42, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Don't get what's the big deal. She had some earrings on Pokémon Sunday Intro scene. But I still don't get what's the deal. --Maxim 10:00, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
Maxim is right. There is no point in keeping that stupid trivia in the article.--Diby 10:03, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
And even IF that piece of trivia was needed, it wasn't that intro that revealed it. It was The Misty Mermaid.

Generation IV Pokemon

The trivia mentions that Misty is yet to own a Generation IV Pokémon. Does anyone else think it might be worth adding that, if she were to obtain one, it would probably be either Shellos, Gastrodon, Finneon, Lumineon or Mantyke, as these are the only Generation IV Water-type Pokémon that aren't owned by another main character? The other Generation IV Water-types are Buizel and Floatzel, but Ash has one of that evolutionary line; Piplup, Prinplup and Empoleon, but Dawn has one of those; and Manaphy, who is legendary. In addition, I'd say that the prospect of Misty obtaining a Generation IV Pokémon shortly is quite high, as her appearance in the new High Touch! opening is quite an exciting hint that she could be making a Diamond & Pearl cameo soon. It is only speculation, so fair enough if it doesn't make it onto the article, but I thought it was an interesting point, at any rate... -Timothy.

Maybe, but, there's an equal chance that she'll get a pokemon that they'll already have. I mean, May had Squirtle and Bulbasaur, despite those two already being owned by Ash. Heck, even Misty captured a pokemon that also was owned by another main character at one point (ie, Gyarados.). Still, we can't be absolutely sure that she'll be making only a cameo in DP, for all we know, it could mean she's returning to the main cast OR they're going to pull a Rivals/Spurt on us and just make us THINK she's appearing when she really isn't. Weedle Mchairybug 10:39, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
No, and here's why. To suggest anything along the lines of her getting a Gen IV Pokémon and further, being one of those particular ones is way into speculation, which is t be avoided at all costs. Speculation is very bad. -Sketchies 10:43, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
I definitely see your point(s), but her options for a Generation IV Pokémon are still quite limited: while Misty and other characters, particularly May, have indeed owned Pokémon that have belonged to other trainers, no two trainers have ever owned two of the same Pokémon at the same time. What I mean is that May didn't have Squirtle and Bulbasaur while Ash did (he had deposited them for Hoenn series) and Misty didn't have her Gyarados when James had his (is that who you're referring to?). I think it's fair to say that there is a strong trend of the writers avoiding overlap and repetition to that degree, and according to that trend, Misty is very unlikely to have any of the Buizel or Piplup evolutionary lines, which only leaves three evolutionary lines. I also just noticed that Zoey has both a Shellos and a Finneon, but I don't suspect the writers would mind Misty overlapping with her, as she is a comparatively minor character. Regarding Misty's appearances, while I am very hopeful that Misty will rejoin the main cast eventually, the fact that a new opening sequence has just been aired with Misty still clearly in a minor supporting role suggests that there is still a fair amount of Diamond and Pearl series to come (otherwise, why bother developing a whole new opening?), and so Misty's rejoining with the main cast is probably a while off yet... I for one would be very surprised if they didn't award her a cameo before the series is out; every other character in that grouping in High Touch! has appeared in Diamond and Pearl, so if they continue their trend, we'll be seeing her soon...Of course, this has indeed stooped deep into the realms of the most unreliable speculation, so I wouldn't expect any of this to be included. I'm simply enjoying the discussion :)- Timothy
Well, technically, May owned the same pokemon as another main trainer at the same exact time in the same exact party. May and Jessie both owned a wurmple at the same time. Now granted, they evolved into two different pokemon, but still, they owned the exact same species of pokemon at the same exact time. Though, yeah, I agree, it should be moved to the forums. Weedle Mchairybug 20:06, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
If you brought this up just to discuss the it here, I'm going to have to remove it from the talk page. If you wish to discuss this, take it to the forums. -Sketchies 12:12, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Honestly, I'm not sure that trivia item is even worthwhile keeping. Of course a character who is yet to appear in DP doesn't have a Gen IV Pokémon. Misty is hardly the only one to hold that description. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 13:51, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

OMG!!!

Guys, think about this. Now that Rachel Lillis has returned to do voices on the series, and if Mayumi Iizuka is right about Misty making a Diamond and Pearl appearnce, do you think Rachel will do Misty's voice again? Telme 01:46, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
