Paul's Torterra (Japanese: シンジのドダイトス Shinji's Dodaitose) is a Pokémon owned by Paul. It is his strongest Pokémon and his starter as well. It is voiced by 石塚運昇 Unshō Ishizuka in Japanese and Billy Beach in English.
It made its first appearance in Top-Down Training. It was used in battle against Cynthia's Garchomp. Despite having many powerful attacks such as Giga Drain and Frenzy Plant, it was not able to put up a fight against Garchomp and it was defeated easily.
It also appeared in DP052 where it was used in a tag battle tournament in which Ash and his friends were also participating. It was paired off with Ash's Staravia and was up against Brock's Croagunk and Holly's Farfetch'd. It managed to defeat Croagunk and Farfetch'd easily. With this win Ash and Paul advanced to the finals.

Trivia
- Though many people assumed that Chimchar was Paul's starter Pokémon, it was revealed to be Turtwig in Top-Down Training.
- This is the second time one of Ash's rivals have had an evolved form of a starter Pokémon that Ash owns. The first is Gary who owned a Blastoise. It could also be noted that both Pokémon were the rival's starter Pokémon and they are both turtle-like Pokémon. Likewise, neither was seen until after it had reached its final form.
- Torterra is one of only two Pokémon to defeat Brock's Croagunk. The other was Dawn's Ambipom, who was Ash's Aipom at the time.
