• This is the first appearance of a female Wobbuffet in the anime, outside of Professor Oak's lecture.
  • As a result, by gender difference, Jessie's Wobbuffet is officially confirmed to be male in this episode, as he was introduced before gender differences.
• The scene where Jessie's Wobbuffet and Dr. White's Wobbuffet share food and accidentally kiss could be a reference to a famous scene in the film Lady and the Tramp.
• During one scene after weeding scene, Jessie and Dr. White wear green T-shirts with Wobbuffet of them, it could be a reference to Yoshirin and Micchi (Louis and Geri in English dub) from Crayon Shin-chan.
