Wide Slash (Japanese: すいへいぎり Horizontal Cut) is a damage-dealing typeless move introduced in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team.

Effect

Generation III

Wide Slash will attack foes on the three tiles diagonally to and in front of the player. It is affected by the Taunted status, and its power can be raised through Ginseng. It has a base 12% critical hit rate. As it is a typeless move, it bypasses Wonder Guard.

Trivia

  • Wide Slash is one of the only two moves exclusive to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, the other being Vacuum-Cut. However, this excludes Excavate and Spin Slash, both of which were taken out of the game late in development, although their TMs can be obtained through cheating devices.
  • Several Pokémon that cannot learn TMs in the core series can learn Wide Slash, but not all of them.
