As children, {{an|Mallow}} and {{an|Lana}} had gotten lost in a forest, but they were found by a {{p|Drampa}} named [[Grandpa Forest]], who gave them Haban Berries to eat. In the present day, [[Harper and Sarah]] also encountered Drampa and brought some Haban Berries home for Lana to see, reminding Mallow and Lana of their experience. {{Ash}}, Mallow, and Lana went looking for Drampa to thank it, and eventually found it near a Haban tree. After dealing with {{TRT}} trying to capture Drampa, the group ate some Haban Berries from the tree, despite being aware of their bittersweet [[flavor|taste]].

In the anime

A Haban Berry in the anime

Haban Berries debuted in Tasting the Bitter with the Sweet!, where they played a notable role. As children, Mallow and Lana had gotten lost in a forest, but they were found by a Drampa named Grandpa Forest, who gave them Haban Berries to eat. In the present day, Harper and Sarah also encountered Drampa and brought some Haban Berries home for Lana to see, reminding Mallow and Lana of their experience. Ash, Mallow, and Lana went looking for Drampa to thank it, and eventually found it near a Haban tree. After dealing with Team Rocket trying to capture Drampa, the group ate some Haban Berries from the tree, despite being aware of their bittersweet taste.

In Why Not Give Me a Z-Ring Sometime?, a Drampa on Ula'ula Island was seen gathering Haban Berries, only to have them stolen by an item-stealing Gengar called the Greedy Rapooh.

In A Recipe for Success!, Mallow made some Haban Berry juice for Grandpa Forest when it came to visit Oranguru's place.
