Gastro Acid (Japanese: いえき Gastric Juice) is a non-damaging Poison-type move introduced in Generation IV.
Effect
Gastro Acid cancels the target's in-battle Ability. Therefore, the target's Ability will be ignored until it is switched out, even if it Transforms. It does not affect Abilities that only have an effect outside of battle, such as Illuminate. Gastro Acid does not affect Stance Change. Furthermore, Gastro Acid does not remove weather conditions caused by Drizzle, Drought, Sand Stream, or Snow Warning, since these weather conditions are independent of their Ability once they have been summoned, which happens before Gastro Acid can be used. Gastro Acid cannot be used to deactivate the Ability of a Plate-holding Arceus. Although a Poison-type move, Gastro Acid does affect Steel-type Pokémon.
