Trivia

The footage in this segment is from Ash's battles with Roxanne, Flannery, Winona and Juan. The final shot is of the flame at the Ever Grande Conference.
  • Pokémon senryū: かてるまで なんどもちょうせん ポケモンジム Kateru made nando mo chōsen, Pokémon Jimu "Until you win, battle again and again; that is a Pokémon Gym."
  • Dawn narrates the next episode preview.
  • The dub title is a play off the dish Jambalaya and combining the two words Gym and liar.
  • Brock's Croagunk was caught simaliar to the way James's Mime Jr. was. There was no battle, and the Pokémon just wanted to be caught.
  • Japanese text was left on the Croagunk card used by James
